PROS AND CONS The staff in my library system are very good at what they do and they are, as a whole, enthusiastic about trying out new things, including technology. Interacting with them and serving their needs becomes easier because of their generally positive attitudes in the workplace. In positions like mine, one often gets to experiment with new technologies and try new things. This kind of flexibility is great for those of us with geekiness built in from birth. There are always things waiting to be done; the physical and virtual piles of work never get any smaller.

I usually evaluate these items right 30 A Day in the Life away so I can get them back to the shelves quickly. I also spend some time in the morning checking and responding to any e-mail that I might have received since the previous workday. m. on weekdays, I sometimes receive e-mail from library staff after I’ve left for the day.
